Architectural Lami
Laminated Safety Glass
Architectural Lami that is sold, installed and serviced by Crystal Clear Glass is safety glass that has many available inner layers that is available in a wide variety of colors and designs. Architectural Lami by Crystal Clear Glass is laminated glass, safety glass that holds together when it is shattered. Should it ever come to the point of breaking, architectural lami is held in place by an interior layer (interlayer) that typically is manufactured of polyvinyl butyral, also known as PVB and is between the two or more layers of glass. The interlayer will keep the layers of glass bonded together even when it is broken, and with its extreme high strength will prevent the glass from breaking apart into large sharp pieces of glass. What will be produced when it breaks is the characteristic "spider webbing" cracking pattern when the break is not enough to completely pierce through the glass.
Architectural Lami by Crystal Clear Glass is laminated glass that is normally used when there is the possibility of people being hit by glass, running into glass or where the glass could fall down on people if it is shattered. Quite a few kitchen, living room and commercial skylights, along with automobile windshields typically use laminated lami glass. In geographical areas where there is a need for hurricane resistant construction, neighborhoods where storefront windows are frequently broken, curtain walls and windows that are subject to flying objects often are used in exterior situations. The PVB, polyvinyl butyral interlayer also gives the lami glass a much higher sound insulation rating, due to the damping effect of the PVB. The PVB lami glass also blocks up to 99% of transmitted UV rays from the sun.
To repeat - Laminated lami Glass is a multifunctional glazing glass material that can be used in a variety of applications. It is manufactured by permanently bonding two or more layers of glass with layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer, which is done under heat and pressure to create a single constructed sheet of safety glass. Laminated glass products are ideally installed in museums, prisons, banks, government buildings, as well as in jewelry stores, airports, schools, office buildings, hospitals and all other places where safety glass and safety glazing applications are appropriate.
